Quest for Revival
COVID-19, lockdown, curfews and facemasks … Recently our community drifted on a spectrum between being grateful for an opportunity to slow down for reflection and feeling triggered, isolated and under attack. In both scenarios the celebrated CSA vibrancy was compromised. In June a decision by the CSA leadership was made to revive community at CSA for a post-summer comeback. The mission of the relaunch was to bring a renewed excitement and remind the community that we are here building on a 40+ year legacy of support ... Providing a safe haven for the multicultural Egyptian and expatriate community in Maadi and environs.
The relaunch theme would be first seen in:
1/ CSA new logo .. at inception in 1979, Cairo American College (CAC) was key to an initial seed-loan for CSA’s existence and it was natural for CSA’s logo to be inspired by CAC’s identity of the time. Since then, CSA’s logos continued to evolve. With our latest design, we hoped to portray a brand spirit that is:
diverse & inclusive
calm with inner relaxed vibrancy, alive
refined simplicity reflected in design and attitude
minimal with an edge
timeless vs. trendy
CAC visual identity influence
CSA early identity
a logo enjoyed for many years
use of symbol/sun, to reflect brand ethos and revival

2/ CSA new website .. recreated to reflect the revived ethos, and be up to date with today’s fast changing web-use and design trends. We migrated to a new platform that is robust in terms security and browser compatibility. We made measures to keep in line with international data privacy laws (GDPR), so your information is kept secure. In addition, we have migrated our domain address to csa-living.org
3/ CSA e-zine .. this is the migration of Oasis print magazine to CSA online. A section on our website will be dedicated to posting fresh, informative and relevant content from Egypt-based authors, authority figures and more. Honoring contractual obligations with our valued Oasis advertisers, CSA is offering a separate and permanent section upon launch of the website on the site under Supporters.
