The gift giving season is upon us once again and we’re here to make your Christmas shopping a little bit easier. CSA is full of some really wonderful shops and vendors selling amazing local products. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite places to shop for gifts; there’s a little something for everyone here, from the foodie in your life to the fitness buff. Alkemia
Alkemia boutique carries a lovely collection of local artisanal design and modern pieces for the home, all with a traditional twist. The boutique displays pieces by some of Egypt’s best designers, from the amazing jewelry of FforFarah, to the recycled designs of UpFuse and the heritage-based work of Mahinaz el Messiry. There is something special and unique in every corner! The boutique is open every day from 9am to 5pm.
Khan Touloun
Khan Touloun is the perfect place to shop for locally produced, sustainable and ethically sourced handicrafts. Since the 90s, Khan Touloun has been supporting local communities around Egypt and helping to keep our traditional crafts and the skills that go along with them alive. Their collection includes pieces from Siwa, Fayoum, Sinai, Luxor and more, all lovingly made and ready for their new home. They also have a lot of great gifts that work for tighter budgets so you’re sure to find something special without breaking the bank. They’re open every day except Friday from 9am to 6pm.
Gourmet Egypt
You might not think of Gourmet as an obvious choice for gifts, but we promise you, a gift card from here will make any food lover a happy camper this Christmas. You could also create a lovely gift basket full of little treats, including their yummy Christmas cookies! The CSA branch is open every day from 9am to 5pm.
REPS Gym and Studios
New Year’s is just around the corner and many of us are adding fitness to our list of resolutions. Between the fully-stocked REPS Gym, complete with personal trainer, and the diverse range of classes on offer at REPS Studios, you are sure to find the perfect option for the health buff in your life, or for yourself! L’Avenue
Specializing in local handicrafts and home décor, L’Avenue carries a carefully curated selection of pieces sourced from around Egypt. Their collection is unique and diverse, bringing together a little old and a little new to make something truly beautiful. Another great advantage here is that you’ll find pieces on different ends of the price scale, which means something to suit every budget. The boutique is open from 10am to 6pm on weekdays, and from 10am to 5pm on weekends.
Adam Elwan Jewellery
Elwan’s jewelry is the perfect combination of contemporary and traditional, weaving in the modern techniques he learned in Florence with his experience working with the craftsmen of Khan el Khalili. His pieces carry a bit of art deco mixed with the geometric designs of Islamic Cairo to make a beautifully unique, wearable piece of art. His showroom here at CSA is open every day from 10am to 7pm.
